Swedish Fish has Swedish fish prices. The custard are delicious as well. Plenty of toppings to choose from. Plus, samples of everything to help you make your choice.

This is my go-to location. They're fast, clean, have good customer service and usually aren't too backed up. They'll also take flavor requests if you give them 24-hour notice. The location can be a little tricky, though. It's most accessible when driving south on Rte. 1, but if you don't mind holding up traffic you can turn in heading north. I really appreciate that the managers are easy to work with. I've ordered massive quantities from them for programs at my job - they're flexible, reasonably priced and will actually come out to serve for you!

I love Rita's!!! The perfect treat on a hot summer day. Just a heads up they are going through an "egg shortage" therefore you are not eating CUSTARD ! It's a richer version of soft serve ice cream they say. But it's not custard. So that was a bummer to me, but the soft serve tasted way better than McDonald's or dairy queen. I didn't realize til I saw a sign on the window, if it wasn't for that I wouldn't have noticed anything at all honestly. I'm not a custard snob :) but if you are... maybe you will notice!

First time here today - I got cookies and cream ice with light vanilla custard. To be honest, mine wasn't that great. I tried my friend's and he had gotten mango ice with vanilla custard and that was really yummy! I think I'll have to go with a fruity ice flavor next time. Will be back to try the other flavors. It's great coming here on a warm summer day. There was a pretty long line when we got there, but it went quickly. Overall, I think the place has a very chill, relaxing atmosphere.

I was expecting to go to a ice cream spot and when I arrived here I wasn't sure what to think of Ice Custard, never heard of it. So I played it safe and just got a milk shake. Now that I can compliment - wasn't too thick, wasn't too watery, it was just right! But other people in the group bought stuff that I wasn't willing to get myself so I tried it. Not as bad as i initially thought!

I love Rita's, largely because it is such a good value. I have yet to try the gelati but I'm a big fan of the italian ice, especially the lemonade flavor. I hear there's a Swedish Fish flavor, definitely need to check it out. But yeah, value, there's plenty of it here. A small serving of the italian ice is less than three bucks and it usually satisfies me. To underscore the significance of this, I'm the kind of guy who will buy two bags of chips at Chipotle (one for now, one for later). So it's definitely a testament to quality that Rita's can make me a happy camper with only a small size! Beware that the parking lot is pretty damn small and Route 1 is a traffic hellhole.
(5)
Amanda K.
I got their Slenderita in a cup with M&M topping size regular and my husband got a Blendini made with pretzels. Both were about 7.50 which I guess is an okay price for eating ice cream out. I thought the portions were smaller than most places but that works for someone like me. Like others have said the location is horrible and hard to get out of. Would I stop here again??? Mmmm probably not. I have been to other Rita's locations and had a better experience.
(2)
Michelle C.
I love Rita's and the good news is they are all the same when it comes to selection and quality. I like the gelati - custard and ice layered in a cup. Just plan ice is also good. I do wish this Rita's had a better parking and seating situation.

A hometown favorite. I love Rita's. I'm from Pennsylvania, so I practically grew up on this stuff. My recommendation: HAVE GELATI. Don't have it every day; you will die. Do have it every once in a while. You will jizz in your pants, even if you're a woman. As others have said, the location kind of sucks, but I don't understand what this has to do with Rita's rating. Should I take points off of their rating because people suck ass at driving? Apparently some people think that way, and to those people I say, "STFU"
(5)
Andrea H.
This location isn't far from where I live and I always seem to find buy 1, get 1 free coupons to Rita's generally. These realities make it easy to stop by when I'm craving something sweet. Like others have mentioned, the parking lot is tight and making a left whether entering or leaving the lot is tricky since it's adjacent to a traffic intersection, but not aligned with it. Everyone's a bit different in what items they gravitate to, but I'm a big fan of Misto Shakes - a mix of ice and custard. For under $5, it is really refreshing. Even if this location has its challenges, the product is yummy.

Kristina L.
Good grief, why is Rita's only on the East Coast?! WHY?! Forget Jamba Juice, forget Dairy Queen, and forget 7-11 slurpees (and that's a hard one for me to say, given that I love slurpees). Go to Rita's. The mangoberry misto is one of the most delicious drinks I've ever consumed. It's like the best shake/smoothie/sherbet thing you've ever had. I don't know. It's amazing. I mean, it might be amazing because I had it on a hot, humid day after walking about 4 miles and becoming fairly dehydrated, but I'm pretty sure that even in 50-degree weather, I'd still love it just as much.
(5)
Jeff R.
So as a West Coast transplant, I've got to say Rita's is pretty amazing stuff. I thought it was just going to be like any other dairy queen/arctic circle/generic frozen treat, but this stuff is clearly on a different level than all of that (now) garbage. We went here on the second or third night after moving to the area, and I couldn't have asked for a better intro to the East Coast. Hmmm...creamy mango gelati goodness... Still have yet to try their other stuff, but it's hard to convince myself when the gelatis are just so good! Yeah, this particular location sucks, but who really cares. I'd drive through a river of molten lava a la "Dante's Peak" if there were a Rita's waiting on the other side.
(4)
Kobie C.
On top of the best frozen treat to touch my taste buds since I first met Ben & Jerry and their cookie dough + brownie batter delightfulness. But, as a previous reviewer said, it is very difficult to get in and out of their parking lot. Fast and good customer service. They're happy to give out samples. Will I come to this one again!!!

Rita's Ice Custard Happiness? Is it really called that? I love Rita's, but I hate this location. There's no place to turn left into it coming from the direction of UMD so you have to drive by and then turn around somewhere else or make an illegal U-turn in the middle of Rt. 1. Then when you leave you come out at a really awkward place in the middle of an intersection. They also only have a few flavors and you never have any idea what will be offered since it seems to be completely random. All the other ones I've been to offer almost every flavor they have all the time. Either way, Mango Misto Shakes/Gelati's are pretty amazing.

My friend is really crazy about Rita's so I decided to try it last night for the first time. I got the mango italian ice and it tasted okay. It was a little too sweet and the flavor left a bitter after taste. I'm prone to brain freeze so I had it right after two spoons of this stuff. I'm going to go back and try the other stuff just to give it another chance. And my stomach ache after I had Rita's so not sure if it's entirely related.

Man. I'm stuck between a 4 and a 5 star rating, because the custard and the ice--the best ever. The location is close to home, but as a previous reviewer said, it is very difficult to get in and out of their parking lot. But given that their chocolate custard tastes like the thickest and richest chocolate milk you could find at a farmers market, but in frozen form, I have to give this place 5 stars because that is, woohoo, as good as it gets. On top of the best frozen treat to touch my taste buds since I first met Ben & Jerry and their cookie dough + brownie batter delightfulness, they offered my cute pooch a free doggie ice cream! We were both happy...and he didn't get brain freeze :). I went there again last night, my third time since 3/6 when it opened up again for the season (they close again in November), there was a chow chow mixed breed there getting her free ice cream as well. Rita's in College Park is well worth the driving headache. I can't wait until Friday so that I can have more!

Oh man, wow! Now this was my first time having frozen custard and italian ice. We don't have this stuff on the west coast. It's is every little bit as good as everyone says they are. I really love how the flavors change from time to time, sometimes from day to day. I really liked the Mandarin and the cookies & cream when we went. With this being a chain, you could probably find one closer to you by visiting their website.

I like Rita's but I have had several recent bad experiences there. I've tried going three times in the last three days and can't even get into their parking lot and cars entering through the exit have blocked route one and I got stuck at the light until through two cycles by cars who then probably got Rita's when I didn't. Rita's you fail- I was a loyal customer.

Try the Strawberry Starburst...so DELICIOUS!!!

Everything about this place is Awesomeness!!! The swedish fish ice, yum. yum. yum. I get a small gelati - which is super satisfying! The black cherry is my all time favorite, with little chunks of cherries in it. Taste things before you commit. You can't go wrong if you are an ice, custard, dessert fan! This particular location is drive in only ... with limited seats benches.

I couldn't get what's on people's minds. This place is always flooded with people. My friend says it is really different from ice cream, but it is really NOT. I was amazed she finished all of it. Anyway, it may be an acquired taste and it may take me more times to start loving it

I love Rita's and the fact that you earn a free Italian ice after 10 purchases with their app! I frequent this location, and it stays busy, especially after 5pm. Expect long lines. I love the frozen custard here and I wish they had more locations!!!
(4)Tandis H.
Rita's wins me over by their frozen custard. If you've never had it it's like very dense..foam? In a good way. It's really creamy and airy and hard to explain, but it's one of my favorites. Their ice is okay. This location sometimes runs low on their ice flavor options, but I've learned to avoid their Italian ice because I find that it tastes too artificial. Their sundaes are very big! Definitely enough to share. And they let you choose yummy toppings! Milkshakes are good too. Right now they have coffee soft serve, so try a coffee-Heath milkshake! Service is always perfect. Workers put on a smile and do not rush you even when the line is all the way down the parking lot. And they do not skimp on anything like many other ice cream shops do!
(4)Austin G.
I'm not a big fan of Italian Ice, but every gelati I've had from Rita's has been awesome! The staff are always friendly. Highly recommend.
(5)Jeffrey C.
The ices are the best. They have a variety of flavors that change throughout the summer. Plus, the flavors usually have pieces of the flavor in it. For example, watermelon has watermelon pieces. Swedish Fish has Swedish fish prices. The custard are delicious as well. Plenty of toppings to choose from. Plus, samples of everything to help you make your choice.
(5)Lena W.
(5)Jamie B.
Delicious! So conveniently located and always such a treat. Just like others have said, don't let the long line intimidate you.
(5)Faith C.
Their sign says it all: Ice, custard, happiness! Their Italian ice is delicious! It totally hits the spot on a hot summer day! Yum! I always mean to try their frozen custard but I love the Italian ice so much I never get around to trying it!
(5)Mo R.

(5)Amanda K.
(2)Michelle C.

Fast and good customer service. They're happy to give out samples of whatever you want. My only issue is that they don't carry Watermelon flavor ice.
(5)Amanda B.
